FYN – Privacy Policy

FYN is made by Vincent Slootmans (“I”, “me” or “the developer”). This policy explains what information FYN stores and how it is used.

Summary

FYN does not require an account. Information you enter in the app is stored on your device so FYN can provide its hydration tracking, reminders and aquarium features. FYN does not send that information to the developer.

Information stored on your device

FYN may store:

• Your name, if you choose to enter it, and the name you give your fish
• Your body weight and activity level, used to estimate a daily water goal
• Your wake-up time and bedtime, used to schedule reminders
• Drinks you log, including their type, amount and time
• Your daily goal, streaks, badges and aquarium progress
• Preferences such as reminders, sounds and your default glass size

FYN also shares a small subset of this information with its own home screen widgets through an iOS App Group. This allows the widgets to show relevant FYN information and pass drink entries back to the app. The information remains on your device and is used by FYN and its widgets.

Information sent to the developer

FYN does not send the information listed above to the developer. FYN has no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, FYN asks iOS for permission to send notifications. FYN schedules local notifications on your device; it does not use a push-notification server. You can turn reminders off in FYN Settings or in iOS Settings.

Backups

If iCloud Backup or computer backups are enabled on your device, iOS may include FYN data in those backups. Apple or you manage those backups under your settings and Apple’s privacy policy. The developer cannot access them.
